Hi! Its been a looooong time since I last posted, shame that I only got time to make a draft just because I can’t sleep last night. /lame I decided to make a blog post about what I’ve been up to for the past few months!
Tricia Gosingtian Style Book Launch & Book signing October 2013
With my amazing time management skills, I was able to sneak in some time to attend this event. trolololol~ I had no sleep in the past 3 days because of our finals \m/
Hence the haggard fez. But I don’t mind anyway as long as I’m sitting beside her! Ahhh super fangirl moment as she recognized @thesabrinablog when she signed my book! Boyfriend was starstrucked as well. She’s so nice and really good at making her readers/fans kilig ^^
I was also glad to meet my new tgosingtian buddy, aleinn :) She was my companion during the event.. boyfriend had to wait outside bc apparently no book no entry. :(
SoFA Styling Workshop September 2013
Styling gig for AZUCAR c/o SoFA Design Institute.
The idea of doing pull-outs was surreal and heavenly. It felt like I was a legit celebrity stylist choosing a dress and getting it for free (for a day). It was fast pace, as we were only given 2 hours. Mala-Amazing race ang peg. Then the next thing happen was like another dream—we were endorsed to the runway director and we were given instructions on how to strut on a not typical runway. It all happened in a blur. It was completely unexpected. We all thought it was just a simple talk or lecture on fashion and photography. We had no idea there’ll be a fashion show and a program. It was like ANTM, where they’ll flash your ’best’ photo and criticize the look you’ve chosen. Jeez, thankfully no one from the audience know me.
I was also glad to meet people with the same interests as I am. Wow, didn’t think I’m slowly fulfilling the goal of my blog! Meeting with amazing people such as Pam and Robi was one of the things that made this event worth remembering for. (Robi was my partner for the challenge and I practiced the runway with Pam)
Book Fair September 2013
On the same month, I also attended the recent MIBF with my boyfriend for very quick book shopping. Can’t believe its the 34th MIBF already and this was my first time to attend!
Purchased Son Of Neptune and Mark Of Athena on discounted prices!!
Recently got crazy with Percy Jackson series that I leveled up to Heroes Of Olympus. Ahhh greek mythology is beautiful! Perfect series to put next to my Harry Potter babies on my shelf. It’s a great read guys, try it NOW!
Sadly, I’m still on Son Of Neptune (huhu) as I had to pause/ hold/ resist/ control myself while I juggle numerous academic priorities, even i’m on a sembreak. /wrist
Bloggers United June 2013
Because my time management skills is seriously unbelievable, I was able to go to #BU5.. in the midst of cramming for my Major internship and the start of the semester! lol.
Also happen to meet the Enciso sisters and Kryz Uy. Photos above are people I’ve been following for a long time aSo grateful for my boyfriend for being my photographer and shopping buddy at the same time.
Very grateful for the opportunities I had to attend these kind of events. Meeting up with people who understands my fandom, who shares the same interests or kaartehan was the best thing. \m/
Huzzah! I know most of you already had their first day today.. so how was your day? Share naman jan! hihi.
Coral <3 Tricia Gosingtian’s favorite color to date! I had these clothes for quite sometime now, but first time to post it here. I’m glad its still trending this season. This might be the look i’ll probably pull off when we don’t have to wear uniforms at school, would you approve it? Haha!
Look details: Hat from SM Acessories, Skort from Androgyne Manila, Top and necklace I bought a long time ago and JC Gallatins from Glorietta (worn with socks from SM Accessories)
Let me know what you think about this look I came up with, okay?
I know said on my previous posts, I’ll make a separate entry of my outfits I wore in Hongkong.. and now is the only time I had to do it. And! Its not even thursday, so.. sorry for the delay!
Outfit 1: My airport outfit. I chose my socks over leggings because (1) wearing leggings is not a good idea when you’re coming from Clark airport where they only let people in an hour before your flight, so you have to wait in an un-airconditioned area and (2) it feels more asian to wear socks (japanese actually, lol). So yeah, I hope you get the idea.
Jacket LEE, Long sleeved dress 2% and black socks all from SM department store(Holiday collection).
Outfit 2: Faulty dress-up! I mistaken the season as summer so the clothes I brought were actually dresses and shorts. Only my airport outfits were good enough for cold places. Good thing I brought with me my brown cover-up! The least I could do to save myself from getting cold. Shame. Fortunately it works pretty well with the dress, don’t you think?
I love the geometric prints on the dress, giving me the opportunity to match it with different colors. And did you notice how it also makes my legs look longer?
Dress from a thrift store, leather belt from US, Cover up from Landmark, Hat from SM Accessories.
Outfit 3: Wore an all-out pink outfit just because being in the happiest place means being able to wear happy colors! I was wearing shorts with leggins underneath and a cardigan over my floral top. Very much like spring, right? Leggings was a real lifesaver, I brought it to use as my sleep attire i didn’t think I’d use it outside. Haay, next time I’ll be careful and listen to my mom. Only me and my brother brought shorts among the 6 of us. :(
Cardigan and shorts from Landmark, Floral top from a bazaar and a CMG bag.
Outfit 4: Floral again for spring! I opted for a more feminine/sweet look since Macau is a romantic place so i stay away from the idea of wearing dark/bold colors.
Love my pants so much because i can pair it with green, yellow or pink! Perfect for summer and spring!
BNY jeans and top. Rusty Lopez shoes.
Outfit 5: Wearing leggins again! Love how it turned out tho, black balanced out my outfit instead of ruining it. What do you think?
Shorts and cardigan from Landmark. Leggings from SM accessories.
Outfit 6: My last oufit! Outfit i wore on my last day in Hong Kong! Shopping in the morning and staying in the airport for the night. With this kind of sweater I wore my leggings because its much shorter than the other one. One of my favorite sweaters to date! I’d never leave this behind for my next travels. I love the tiger print on it, its just so fierce!
No brainer for a fuschia-black combo! What do you think?
Sneaking! I didn’t have a pass to this event plus, I went to school before this! I tried my best to see this show just to spot some bloggers and icons but I got to see more than what I wanted to!
Forever 21’s newest collection presents young and fresh prints on cheerful colors. Perfect for the youth of today who enjoys trying out new things! Forever 21 plays with prints and colors on to a higher and more exciting level.
Just like the photo shown above, Polka dot top was paired with printed shorts__taking note on the color of the print on the shorts, it was paired with a red undershirt. My kind of styling! I always put my attention to small details/colors. Color scheme plays an important role to pull off a great outfit.
The denim jacket balanced the bold colors on the shirt and on the shorts.
See how versatile denim pieces are? With forever 21’s garments, you can never go wrong with their denims. May it be a jacket, vest, top, blouse, or jeans — you don’t have to worry about wearing it on summer/hot weather.
For this season, 21Men presents a collection of bright colored jeans, top s and a classic black/gray tops.
Forever21 also featured pieces for little fashionistas! Most of them were denim paired with baby pink skirts, striped tees, floral/laces, etc. Wasn’t able to take photos because I was wearing flats that day. :( I only got to see the photos on fb.com/forever21ph » visit and like their page!
The next set of collection shows Forever21’s neon clothing for a more playful and exciting look! My kind of pieces if I want to steal everyone’s attention. Neon colored clothing are always eye-catching. With F21’s you can brighten up someone else’s mood because its pieces were a mix of vibrance and fun!
The event was hosted by Joyce Pring who’s sporting a purple hair! So coool and pretty!
What I also love about forever21 is the way they choose their models! I was smitten by one guy model!! if you follow my instagram (@thesabrinablog) and Twitter(assabfloress) you’ll know who among these guys I’m having a crush on. hihi.
I got to see my favorite bloggers such as David G, Patricia P, Lissa K, Aisa I, and some celebs - too bad I wasn’t able to take a picture with them because I was alone :( Nonetheless, I enjoyed a great show and a way way cooler store! 2 floors of fashion, style and elegance! Visit Forever21 SM Aura! You won’t miss the store because its near the entrance and the huge FOREVER 21 sign outside SM Aura was really hard to miss!
Follow @Forever21ph on twitter Like fb.com/forever21 @f21ph on Instagram
My pastel green nails, a hat and a blue top. A totally refreshing mix of colors! Colorful outfit post ahead!
Loooong overdue post, indeed! Shame to post this on this moment when Bed weather has already started. I almost forgot I drafted this post weeks ago. But hey, sayang naman yung effort. So here it is, folks! My type of summer outfit!
Turquoise, pink and lavender! What do you think? A pastel party, yes?
I got my color scheme on my hat! I loved the how it turned out. Comments are appreciated! :)
Finally!! - an addition to my /events tag this year! I was indeed too busy with acads for the two semesters that I didn’t think of attending any events in the past. booooooo! /missedopportunities
But being a true blue candy girl, I made it a point to attend this year’s Style awards!
#TGIFand #yolo moments. One shall never underestimate the CANDY TEAM! Every event they organize was such a fun fun crazy night for girls young at heart (and fangirls/bloggers).
With me for the night was my boyfriend’s sister! Our first night-out together and her first night party outside school. :) I was happy to share this night with her. I just hope I didn’t give her the idea of partying all night or whatsoever. lol.
Kathryn Bernado.. without Daniel P. Huhuhu. Boyfie’s sister and the crowd were disappointed.. but surprisingly, they still went screaming with kilig when DJ’s VTR was shown - including me. Haha.
I took pictures with JUST two cuties. Very unlikely! I remember those times when I was still in High school during Candy Fair, sinusulit ko yung punta ko! Bawat Candy Cutie na makita namin, may picture ako. Haha! Hello there, Ate abby! I miss you!
Spent the night doing blogger duties instead - photo op with fellow bloggers and photo with blogger idols + style icons/celebrities!
Lovely bloggers-slash-fangirls, I met. :)
(1) Nicole of itsnicoleperez.blogspot.com - we attend the same school, and the same course. Surprising to find another person who study a medical course esp Pharmacy but has passion for fashion! Hoping that someday we can make those two things collide. (2) The adorable Guen of Dollifieddreams.tumblr.com - we met here on tumblr, I was kinda surprised when I saw her at the event and was a litol shy to approach her but she’s too nice to recognize me! Hello! Nice meeting you! ‘til next blogger event! :)
The Candy Style Stars 2013
(1)Janeena Chan - Ugh, she’s a real head turner! She looks like a legit Barbie doll and I looked like .. well, a crap. :\ (2) Linn Oeymo - I’ve seen her in various print and tv ads before, i’m not surprised she’ll have the award. :) She’s really sweet! The way she talks and that wonderful smile on her face makes her really pretty. (3) With Lexi of Lexithesecond.tumblr.com - Been a follower of her blog for almost two years now. She’s one of the most genuine, humble and nice bloggers I know. What keeps her different from the top bloggers is that she’s not afraid to admit that she buys occasionally from Ukay-Ukay! She was even known for it, she has her eyes for vintage finds! (4) Reese Lansangan of reeseypeasy.com - I stalked her blog right after I bought the April ish of Candymag. There’s so much to love about her aside from her pink hair!
Youtube sensation, Krissy and Erika! - Super love them! Their soulful voice is amazing!
Now on to a more exciting part of the night - Enciso sisters, Laureen and Patricia! Wooohoo *victorydanceparteh*
Wearing again my DIY UJ shirt! The last time I posted it I was wearing jeans, but since the heat forbids me to wear jeans or anything that covering too much skin, I paired it with my skirt..
Good thing I have this skirt in neutral shade - that makes it versatile. But really, the colors on the belt made me decide to pair it with my shirt. And love that I can tie it into a bow for that added accent!
Does red and blue reminds you of Anchors and/or sailing? I’ve been seeing bikinis with these combinations, I must say its a refreshing color-match! I covet those bikinis. hurrr why can’t my body be beach-ready? I blame it to my laziness and food, lol.
For the added accent, I wear it with a cap - my brother’s by the way. I stole it. Hello kuya, sorry I borrowed it without asking.. You won’t use it pa naman diba? Isosoli ko na after this. #conyo
Seems so boring without the cap! And I had this recent realization that any boring outfit can be remedied by wearing something interesting on your head such as caps, hats, floral headband, Cat ears, etc. Its trending this season! Loving those floral headbands but I’m into obsessing with hats - I’m even thinking of collecting some!
Let me remind you that my posts on the next few days/weeks, I’ll be wearing my hats. I currently have 3 summer hats. Hehe. Plus, its ideal on summers to protect you from Mr. Sunny! Hope you’ll join me collecting hats. Haha!
Completed the look with my red flats! Hah, such a no-brainer move. I found myself playing all matchy-matchy again, lol.
Hope y’all are having a great summer! In few days, I’ll be switching to internship-mode again. :)
I miss late-night blogging. Those times when you scroll down on your dashboards until 3 in the morning? Yeah, that awesome coool feeling like a legit tumblrista. I miss that. I miss the good ol days with my tumblr (sabrinaforfashion), the so called- hardcore reblogging. ha! I miss being one of those cool-kids! lol. And tumblrask conversations with people from different countries! haayyy what is summer vacay when you’re in college -_- #internships
Last day in Hong Kong! What to do? Shopping, of course! I took less photos since my attention was you know, more focused on stalls, price tags, etc
Stolen photo. Ha! Caught-in the act. You know what was running on my mind the whole shopping time I had? CONVERSION to php. Daaayum, almost same price with pieces in GH and Landmark that I end up buying food/snacks instead of spending it on clothes. Hoard Pocky and other candies! Happy kid.
Bought some goodies in Sasa instead; perfume, make-up, etc
Some Pinoy goodies we found along the streets!
Spot Pinoy tabloid here! Lol, I have no idea why they have those in their stalls.
After a lot of walking plus it suddenly rained so hard, we tried the nearest Mcdonald’s … because we can’t get enough of it! Daily dose of Cheese burgers in HongKong, lol.
Check out their Vanilla Sundae cone,
Cool beans! So yummy that I started craving for it 48 hours after. Why don’t we have this kind of ice cream goodness in Manila? :(
After having our lunch, we went back to the hotel to gather our luggage and dropped by at Sky100 before heading to the airport.
Easter Season. Hurrr those pink bunnies are way too cute!
And my last purchase in Hong Kong before I go back to Manila! I love this mag to bits! Compared to our usual fashion magazines here in Manila, this Japanese magazine has MORE photos and LESS text. So its really a perfect style bible since it caters a lot ot style in just one mag! Will stock some mags everytime I went on an out of the country trip! It seems like a good investment instead of key chains, etc.
'til my next travel post! :) My whole trip to Hong Kong was beyond amazing since we get to visit a lot of tourist destinations in less than a week. Planning ahead really does magic, I hope you'll enjoy your summer destinations as well! xx
My Hong Kong Trip PhotoDiary will not be complete without my Ocean Park Entry, so here I am now typing in real-time to pull-off a productive holiday.
(Instagram (@thesabrinablog) photo I posted weeks ago. These four highlights my whole Ocean park adventure)
FUN FACT : Extreme rides will forever be in my to-do list everytime we (siblings) visit theme parks.. So expect the usual words such as ; cool! , awesome! , amazing! , aaaahhhh!. The same words I used countless times in my Universal Studios SG and Island Adventure Florida entries. lol.
The name speaks for itself, FOR REAL. If I could only show you the photo taken during the ride,.it would have been perfect for a legit shampoo commercial. Like really, my hair was literally standing on top of my head, like a black cloth above my head. Gondo ng hair ko eh. Ha Ha! Lol.
Plus, its my first time to ride a roller coster with HUGE loops on it and on the side of the mountain, so scary but it feels awesome after the ride! So proud of myself!
Second ride I tried! Being with guy siblings means taking you to extreme rides on a theme park. AAAhhh awesome feeling! Costers with multiple loops are now my favorite!
Heh. Theme-park friendly slippers! Had to switch to theez pairs because my flats are killing mee :(
Friendly reminder to those who plan to visit Ocean Park, wear comfy footwear! You’ll be surprised when you realize how big the park is .It involves a lot of walking from one ride to another. :( We didn’t even finish the whole park though we got plenty of time and considering the lines on each ride were not that long too.. Boo :( But atleast we have the reason to come back anytime soon.
Two rides that are both extreme but the best! Wooohooo. I can still remember the feeling on top and the view of the island/park!
Pacific Walrus! So cute in this photo but…
A bit gross when close up -_-
Cool photo I took :)
Look at this baby, looks like its wearing Prada sunglasses!
And this one looks like its has orange (as in the fruit) as its head.Yum!
Aww, this cutie patootie Panda toy I want to take home! But apparently I have one similar to this but bigger.. I hadn’t realize some things smaller are way way much cuter!
And cutie patootie ones are even cooler when real. Lol, KAMUSTA NAMAN. The only legit and ‘okay’ photo we’ve taken with the Panda. We should’ve visited him earlier/morning :(
We ended the day with a cool and powerful light/fire/dancing fountain show. The whole day was tiring but fun after all. Worth it! :)
After Macau, we decided to watch Symphony Of Lights at Victoria Harbour since the terminal was only a walking distance to the Harbour and thankfully, the show starts not before 8pm!
What I love about travelling by foot is that it gives you the opportunity to explore the city and take good pictures, instead of by riding a tourist bus where the shots result to blurred ones.
Here are some of the photos I took using my tired hands and tired feet (for wearing heels all day).
Can’t believe Nathan road was even more amazing at night! Street lights at its best!
My favorite was Dior! posh!
And here is where the Symphony of Lights happen. According to wiki: A Symphony of Lights (Traditional Chinese: 幻彩詠香江) is a synchronised building exterior decorative light and laser multimedia display, featuring 44 buildings on both sides of the Victoria Harbour of Hong Kong accompanied by music.
But Symphony of Lights in Ayala Triangle is way way much better! <3
The clock tower at night
The Heritage at night
And my last photo of the night. :) Heh. I never imagined myself, wearing something floral until now.. I just bought this pants because I thought its obligatory for Spring but it instantly became my favorite after reviewing my photos wearing it and after I found out it was the same pants Laida Magtalas wore on the best part of It takes a man and a woman. Have you watched it already? I heard its great, because everyone in Unilab (where I’m currently having my internship) talked about it for 3-days, and thats even the day BEFORE they watched in the Cinemas. Haha.
Anyways, Day 3 next! With Ocean Park and Victoria Peak photos! :D
“So don’t you worry your pretty little mind
People throw rocks at things that shine
And life makes love look hard
The stakes are high, the water’s rough, but this love is ours”— Ours, Taylor Swift My summer song~
Ferries are the only practical source of transport between Hong Kong and Macau..Turbojet was one of the finest ferry that takes tourist from Hong Kong to Macau. Our trip took 1 hour or so from Hong kong Ferry Terminal (which was only a walking distance from our hotel) to Macau Terminal.
Hihi. That is me and my younger brother. I was.. tired from last night’s Disneyland adventure.
Upon arriving at Macau, we decided to take our late lunch at Mcdonalds.. because again, I don’t eat chinese foods. Weird, as you can see in this photo that this is a legit Mcdo chain without chairs and tables in it!
My kuya and his bestfriend. =)) For this whole Hongkong-Macau Trip, he has been our tour guide ‘coz he is really really good (expert) at Maps and directions.
Our first stop : The Venetian
Travelling around Macau couldn’t be easier- with free shuttle buses around and taxis readily available. Travel-wise, we chose shuttle buses instead of taxis for a cost-free travel. We enjoyed much of Macau without spending anything on transportation.
The Venetian was too good to be true. I can’t quite believe I’m in place I’ve only seen on magazines years back! Its beauty was literally jaw-dropping .. Take that ceiling above me as an example, it wasn’t a legit sky at all. It was a painting designed to make the place look so beautiful and serene just like the original Veniece! (You have no idea how hard it was raining outside at the moment we took these photos)
Ahhhh I want to go back ;__;
Such a romantic moment.
This is what they call a gondola, wherein tourists can enjoy a ride as the gondolier serenades them with an opera piece. Surprisingly, there was one gondolier smiled in delight when he knew we were from the Philippines and told us, he visited our beautiful country once.
On a related note, worry not my friends! Soon, a condo/hotel in Taguig (Mckinley Hill) will open their own rendition of Veniece Grand canal! And by that time, I hope I can experience a gondola ride. :)
Wonderful Architecture <3
There are more amazing themed-ceilings inside The Venetian but we didn’t have much time to take a look at the others :(
Outside the Venetian.
Raining so hard again! Reason why we failed to visit Senado square and Ruins of St. Paul’s cathedral.. sad. :( Quite ironic.. because i’m smiling in this photo. /weird
Next bus, to Sands!
Where we spotted this Limousine and their grand ceiling! Everything in Macau was grrrraaand!!
We didn;t stay for long in this hotel/casino since we’re not allowed to go inside, unless we’ll play casino or we have reservations.
So we took a shuttle bus again to go to Wynn hotel,
Raining and sorely depending on my hat again! :))
Macau:Former Portuguese Colony
During the trip, I noticed that the streets of Macau were lined with buildings painted in pastel shades of pink, green and cream—making me want to stay here! Furthermore, according to my research; these pastel structures in Macau makes it very reminiscent of the Mediterranean and nowhere else in the world can you see old European neo-classical structures juxtaposed against Asian influences. In fact, so historically significant is Macau that it received World Heritage listing by UNESCO in 2005.
Star World Casino
Macau has been known as the Vegas of Asia, with Casinos built in every corner.
What’s with all the beautiful ceiling and grand chandeliers?
Hotel lobbies with Gold accents are always sosyal!
Less photos of me since I was the one holding the camera when we were here in Wynn. We just stopped by some shops inside like Louis Vuitton, Prada and Versace .. just to check the price if its the same as here in Manila. SAME. Failed to wait for the dragon lightshow inside Wynn :(
at 5pm we called it a day and went back to the Ferry terminal. The cost of the trip back to Hong Kong raises its price with respect to time. Late night being the most expensive—that’s why we left a little early than expected and because it was raining hard and we’re worried our trip might be delayed when the rain gets worst.
There are too many pictures but of course, I cannot upload it all here but I hope you guys can visit Macau anytime soon! Macau is place where every corner is picture-perfect and too good to be true!
Back in 2008, I got the chance to visit Disneyland with my mom. This time, its the whole family who get to visit! But momdecided not to enter the park (on last minute) though, because she wouldn;t take the rides either.
Mehehe! I planned my outfit to be in Pink and happy colors, to match the colors of Disneyland! The original plan was without the leggings, but the weather was unexpected. :( I thought it would be just the same as here in Manila. Good thing, I have those leggings intended cold nights and for emergency cases.. such as this. I hope it didn;t ruin much of my look. *-* (In my Ocean Park adventure, I was wearing leggings too. hu hu hu boooo)
Pretty balloons! I was debating with my younger brother that the face of minnie is shaped like Phineas’ head. lol :D
Panoramic view of the people waiting for the Flight of Fantasy Parade. It was one of the things I missed the first time I went here, so I was really excited and lined up with the crowd.
The crowd consists of Kindergarten adorb kiddos, i’m guessing because it was their field trip! :)
Lilo and Stitch.
AMAZING 20-MINUTE SOMETHING OF MY LIFE. It was so beaaautiful! Any tourist who visits Hong Kong Disneyland shall not miss the opportunity to watch Disney characters! Not posting all the photos here, its better if you’ll try to visit and see it for yourself. The moment will be priceless, believe me.
And this is tigger saying Hi to me while I’m recording a video of the whole parade. Yes, I recorded it! I had to, for my younger cousins. My pasalubong to them. hehe.
They say almost more than a half of the disneyland workers in HK are Filipinos! I knew this because the last time I was here, the pinoy workers talked to me when they heard I spoke in Filipino. But this year’s visit, wherever side of the park you go, you’ll always hear someone speaking in Filipino! Pinoys everywhere, indeed!
Heee. Had to include this photo because I’m matchy matchy with the pastel castle and that kid behind me is so adorbs with her minnie mouse ears headband.
The iconic Disneyland’s castle! Matchy matchy again because I’m in pink. Hehe, the plan worked!
I was on the verge of looking for my old photo similar to this angle of the castle. Will post it on instagram soon when I found it. Follow my instagram, yes? It’s @thesabrinablog . hurrr shameless plug. =))
Here is HK Disneyland’s newest attraction, the Toy Story Land! :) We were so excited because the three of us are loyal fans of the movie and wooodddyyyy!
Tried this parachute drop, which was soo good! I love rides with free-fall because it makes me feel like flying!!
I also dragged my brothers to this ride, Space Mountain because it was the most awesome roller coaster ride ever. I rode this back in 2008 and I highly recommend this to everyone! If you’re afraid of roller coaster rides, Fear not! You’ll enjoy this.
We were also lucky to be just in time for the Musical play of Lion King. So amaze with the voices of the casts, it makes me wonder if one of them was atleast a Filipino?
And the second best part - the Disney on the stars fireworks display! It’s breathtaking, I watched this teary eyed! Pyromusical you shouldn’t miss.
After the fireworks, we joined everyone as they leave the park and went home safely. We slept right away because the next day will be another fun-filled day… Macau! :)
Huzzah! I’m back to blogging again, yey! and I’m starting my comeback with my first travel post for 2013!
The day right after my final exams, my family and I flew to Hong Kong for our holiday vacation, which was such a perfect timing to relax! The week before the trip was soooo stressful -_- I put all my energy to that friggin’ finals week. Didn’t get all the sleep I needed though, since our usual travel sched involves sleep-late and wakeup-early routines. But still, Thanking God for this moment, the beautiful scenery’s and places we’ve been to in Hong Kong managed to absorb all the stress and heart/head aches and replaced it with fun and excitement.
Welcome to my Hong Kong Travel diary! :) Expect this to be a kinda long since Its been a long time since my last post.
Me with my brothers and my tita and my mom on the far left (behind mom is my another tita, 6 of us went to HK)
We took a flight from DMIA Clark Pampanga via Seair because we booked our flight so late (february) that all the flights on Holy week in NAIA were fully booked already in mid-january.
Finally arrived at HKG airport!
This is me while riding on a shuttle to the arrival area of the airport. I wore my socks instead of my knee-high boots, just because socks seems a lot more asian. :)
My #ootds on a separate post!
During our entire stay in Hong Kong we were accomodated by BP International Hotel. Which later I found out, was the same hotel Tricia G stayed in when she visited Hong Kong! Can’t stop fangirling about the coincidence!
Just like her, this hotel is also recommended travel-wise if you plan to visit HK anytime soon since its very near to 2 MTR stations and walking distance to some must-visits including Kowloon park, clock tower/harbour city/avenue of stars and Nathan Road.
Good Morning chilly Hong Kong! This was at Kowloon Park.
Its spring time in Hong Kong for this month and I didn’t expect it to be ‘that’ cold.. but the flowers were so breathtakingly pretty!
Not really a photographer nor near to having photography skills but I hope I gave some justice to the beauty of these flowers.
Just right the end of the Kowloon park was Nathan Road, where all of the major brands like Prada, Louis Vuitton,Hermes, H&M and asian brand Sasa, etc were located.
We took Nathan road to go to Avenue of stars where all known actors have their names on the ground just like the legit avenue of stars in USA!
Windy, chilly and some drizzle. It was really cold you have no idea ;_; this is the time when you address my photos as 'tiis ganda' moments. But hey, I still managed to laugh about my insanity. mehehehe. Me laughing out loud. We didnt bring any umbrella so that hat was the only thing I got to.. save myself from the rain. lol.
Bruce Lee, Jet Li and Jackie Chan were the only names we recognized.
Hiyaaaa! Know this guy? And.. notice the fog behind me..
Ha! Look at theezzz people!
Meanwhile me and my brothers..
Got the nerve to take a photo. Haha!
Since it started raining really hard, we tried to find some place where we can eat.
Ordered the usual, beef teriyaki, because I really don’t like chinese food, sorry :(
But I love how asians always have a leafy veggie side dish and corn & carrots, just like the meals i’ve tried in Singapore. :)
We also dropped by at this places; Clock tower, Museum of Art and Heritage.. Isn’t that huge bear statues so adorbs? I want to take them home! Only if they were lighter enough… ^-^
After that, we went back to the Hotel to change clothes for our next destination : Disneyland.
Gone are the days of sulking, crying my heart out and alone times during a terrible after-quiz syndromes of me..
Disappointments, losing and failures have been my closest friend for the past few days and/or months. I’ve been working too hard on acads, I pushed to my limits, pressured myself, overdosing caffeine just to stay awake, neglecting friends and opportunities.. and all the stuff that can pull off a Hermione.
But unfortunately things don’t happen the way we expected it. Here comes disappointments, low self esteem and loss of confidence. I was near to believing I can’t do anything exceptionally good and that no matter how hard I try, I cannot achieve anything. My heart was broken. A lot of times. It was only this time that I found the need to let it all out. Because apparently, failures are taking too much space in my system.
As much as I wanted to put the blame to the unfair circumstances of life, I can’t because I know it was completely my fault and nobody else’s. I was too hard on my self, yes. I expect too much from myself, yes. I find it hard to accept failures and rejection, (big) YES.
Thankful for today, I realized so many things, with the help of friends, a good song and my forever source of good vibes, Candy Magazine! Just before I reached our house, I accepted the fact that it was my fault and the fact that there’s nothing I can do to change what happened. (Unless, my time-turner magically works). But instead, I should change the way I see things and learn to accept them. I should learn to use them as a weapon and inspiration to move forward and keep trying. After all, being great and winning is not about the absence of failure. As what Candy Mag taught me, its having the courage to fail and stick around.
Let me end this post with words from Carrie Bradshaw,
“We like to set goals to be in control, but sometimes you need to let go of the control, because we have to deal with wherever we end up” .
