Breaking Dawn Part II

"…I have died everyday waiting for you.."

I’ve been singing this song in my head over and over again since the last time I saw the movie. It’s been a week and I can’t still get over it. Talk about LSS!

Just like everyone else keep posting and tweeting, there’s no doubt how amazing the movie was. I guess, I underestimated them (esp Bella/Stewart) that I was so surprised with how it turned out to be amazing.

I guess this is the right time to explain why I don’t like the saga..
Like most of the fans who read and watched the Twilight Saga and the potterheads as well, the main reason is because of Bella. Why? Because she’s the only character I couldn’t relate myself to. She’s the only character that I thought, ‘I will never be like her’. Most of the female characters in the novels I read are strong, brave and heroines in their own way. While this girl, Bella led her life miserably when she was left alone by his love, Edward. While after sometime when she started to move on  and met Jacob, she finally got back on track. But then, Edward came again while Jacob is still by her side.. she ended up having both of the guys, somewhat at the same time. I hate the ‘kiss me’ (to Jacob) part and the ‘you knew he was listening!’ (to Edward).

Well, the story seems to be shallow and complicated. Twilight is really a good read but I didn’t like New Moon. Bella’s has a bad way of handling love-problems in her own.

I read novels wholeheartedly by placing myself in the shoes of the characters but unfortunately Bella’s shoes didn’t fit into mine.

Going back to the movie review, I would definitely rate this one with five stars. At first, I didn’t understand why everyone was so excited with the movie (didn’t finish the book) but after I watched it, I realized why.

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT.

Can you keep a secret?

This book is so hilarious! I am so grateful that after the passionate romance of Anastasia and Christian, I switched to this calm, relaxed and romantic-comedy novel. I was at ease reading this book because it gives me all the good vibes I need. I can’t remember on what page I didn’t laugh or smile. Every page of this book is filled with a good-laugh statement.

Would you share your secret to a stranger? Of course, not! But this girl, Emma thought she was going to die on a plane just because it experienced turbulence. She panicked and told all her secrets to the man beside her, thinking he’ll be the last person she’ll see. But as she continue talking, she didn’t notice they have landed, safely. She was humiliated at what she did and thought that maybe she’ll never see that stranger again.

Little did she know, that man which she confided all her secret, was the CEO of the company she’s working for! With her best efforts, she tried to avoid Jack, the CEO of Panther Corporation.

And that’s where the story revolved. Can it be more awkward? Jack knows every single detail about Emma..

Emma has a boyfriend, she wasn’t happy at all with her boyfriend.  That’s one of the secrets she told Jack.

When Emma broke up with him, I got so excited! Because I knew Emma would end up being with Jack.

Their love story seemed so romantic and sweet but bad things happen as well. But after all the complicated things that happened they still ended up being together.

The first Lesson I learned here is that you’re not really supposed to talk to strangers! And you should only share your secrets to the people you trust.

I know that not only love strengthens a relationship, but it comes in package with trust, loyalty and honesty. Emma loved Jack in an instant because Jack knows everything about her, and she doesn’t need to pretend or impress Jack. She remained true to herself and to him.

I think that’s what makes relationships stronger, being true to each other and not hiding anything. But since we’re girls, and girls always have that tiny little secret, I think its normal to have a little one. But things so big and has major effect on your life, things that are important, must be shared between the lovers. You enter a commitment to share things with your partner, whatever it is and whatever the circumstances.

"Men and Women should be honest with each other to communicate better and understand each other. And never have to be pretend about anything. " - Emma Corrigan

Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy

Quotes from the trilogy:

I’m your lover, Anastasia, not your Dom. I love to hear your laugh and your girlish giggle. I like you relaxed and happy, like you are in José’s photos. That’s the girl that fell into my office. That’s the girl I fell in love with.”—Christian Grey

“What can I do to make you understand I will not run? What can I say?”
He gazes at me, revealing his fear and anguish again. He swallows. “There is one thing you can do.”
“What?” I snap.
“Marry me,” he whispers.” —E.L James, Fifty shades Darker

“You wanted hearts and flowers,” he murmurs.
I blink at him, not quite believing what I’m seeing.
“You have my heart.” And he waves toward the room.
“And here are the flowers,” I whisper, completing his sentence. “Christian, it’s lovely.” —E.L James, Fifty shades Darker

“But I’m a selfish man. I’ve wanted you since you fell into my office. You are exquisite, honest, warm, strong, witty, beguilingly innocent; the list is endless. I’m in awe of you. I want you, and the thought of anyone else having you is like a knife twisting in my dark soul.” —E.L James, Fifty shades Darker

“I know you’ve always dreamed of going to Europe,” he says softly. “I want to make your dreams come true, Anastasia.”
"You are my dreams come true, Christian."
"Back at you, Mrs. Grey," he whispers.”  ― E.L. James Fifty Shades Freed

Daddy, you scared me..

Last Friday, me and friends had this “after-party” aka the day after our Microbiology exam (gosh, the sound of that subject makes me scared!). We had to go somewhere to forget the bad memories that happened, you guys have no idea how bad the exam went for us. :(

To scream our hearts out, we decided to watch a horror movie, and ‘The Possession’ instantly came into our minds. Judging the trailer and poster, we thought we’ll be all scary and screaming like there’s no tomorrow! So yeah, we headed to Greenbelt 3 right after taking our lunch.

For the record (atleast with me), we took second row seats! Yay, so brave. It was my first to sit on second row, while the girls I’m with, they ALWAYS choose second row, for fun.

Indeed, it was fun-ny! Turns out, I laughed so hard. HAHA! Maaan, my girls were freaking scared! HAHA! The crowd were so cool as well! We scream in UNISON! haha. It wasn’t scary at all but I enjoyed watching it. It made me jump/scream for two-three scenes, but the rest, I keep on laughing! Hello Ainah! I was seated beside her, she covers her eyes on some scary parts while I try my best to remove her cover! Lol, #mean. Haha! Sorry ainz!

In the end, we had a blast. The mission to forget the memories our midterms had given us, was successful! Had so much fun!! THANK YOU GIRLS! :*

Tried my best to post a REAL movie review, but this is the best I got. Lol. What can I say? Its not so good for a horror movie. It was rated R-13 so I guess thats the reason behind the cuts (bitin scenes). If you’re a real fan of horror films, I would not recommend this to you. But if you just wanna have fun with your girlfriends, this is highly recommended! HAHA. Try second row seats too!

Don’t Talk to Anyone. Don’t Touch Anyone.

(Some spoiler ahead YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED)

Days before our Prelim exams, we were given the chance to watch a film related to our topic in Public Health which was Epidemiology. My classmates figured this movie was just the right film that we’re looking for..

And so it was! I liked that the movie was more of a clinical approach. I have this fascination for movies like that plus science fiction movies. It makes my brain awake and active! =)

Contagion is a thriller about a deadly global virus and how the medical world, media and real citizens react and cope with the outbreak.

The movie started with Patient Zero, Gwyneth Paltrow who just came from Hongkong and on her way home to her family. The next thing happened, seizures. And she was sent to the Hospital and from there she died.

Next, a footage of people from Hongkong, London and others who had the same symptoms of the same virus. CONTAGION.

It amazed me how the different organizations for health care cope with this kind of situation. They act hand in hand to find a cure and a way to save many lives as possible. It made me realized how important they are and how hard their work is. Most especially, the work of an epidemiologist which was something that only a few people can accomplish. Epidemiologists tops my list of the bravest people in the world. I admit that I can never imagine myself doing a work like an epidemiologist who investigates on the cause of the disease by going to places that might be infected or with the risk of possible infection.

The movie opened our mind to the real world of medical practice. I liked that it introduced us to how the CDC and WHO handle cases like this. It was a real challenge! I thought that the same thing happened when AH1N1 happened. It was a global crisis. And it was so good that the film was realistic enough that I visualized myself in the same situation as the characters.

This is not a horror movie but it frightened me because of its true-to-life, very probable scenario. Funny how after seeing this movie, I became more conscious and sensitive. I managed to always have my alcohol/sanitizer in hand whenever I go outdoors and at school and proper handwashing all the time.

I’m sure most of the people who watched this movie did the same thing. And YOU! after seeing this film.

The movie also served as an awareness for the people that we need to be more clean/hygenic in every way. It was the best way to prevent a contagious disease after all. Just like what DOH taught us since we were kids!

Check out the trailer of the movie now!

Pretty Little Liars

School is back! And so does my favorite tv show..

Pretty little liars is back for its most-awaited third season! wohoo! I’ve been too excited for this since the day the season finale was aired.

I just watched its first episode for season 3 last night and catched the replay this morning. I was so happy that I’m making this entry as my latest review! Yey!

I want to start this by saying, I love every bit of transformation among the girls! From the hair to clothes to shoes to personality! I saw the changes in their way of handling things that messed up. Spencer? She’s braver and smarter now! (She’s my fave liar, btw) Aria and Hanna with the new hair? Love it!! Emily? New look and an upgrade for fashion! As for the PLL boys… well… very much hotter than the previous seasons, I swear! It gave a hard time to think who among them should I choose to be my favorite!

On another note.. the story wouldn’t be such a thrill without suspense and secrets. it made me jump, skip a heartbeat and sort of mini-heart attack with the twist and turns! This is another episode that will surely change your mind on who you think is A.

Another thing I love on this episode is that they continue the bond Toby and Emily shared. I love the thought of them being together as friends. :) The whole show is mainly about friendships.. Either destroyed or made even stronger. I admire Hanna being so concerned with Mona aka A after all the things that happened. Can you do that to your ex-bestfriend who tried to kill you?

Secrets. This show will not be complete without secrets. The girls are starting to keep some dirty secrets again from their families, their boyfriend and.. from each other.

Ahhh! Need I say more? This post will be the longest ever if I continue to write everything about it. Just let me know what you think by using Disqus comments! :)

The Avengers

 042812

Last night was the night we watched 'The Avengers' with my boys namely my brothers and ze boyfriend. How we got the ticket without any reservations? hmm, thats another story. For now, I will share my opinion about the movie.. I do not guarantee that this post is spoiler-free. :)

First things first. I kinda don’t like how there were so many commercials played before the movie. Hello? Its PG-13 and they’re showing the Barney commercial! Like, wth? They only played ONE trailer!! The commercials weren’t even related to the movie at all. Except that Jollibee commercial of an avenger bucket meal. But ugh. Nakakainis.

But okay, lets proceed..

I find it lucky for us to have watch the movie in 3D. My brothers were so crazy inlove with the four heroes so they really wanted to watch it in 3D even if it means, waiting for 5 freaking hours. Yep, 5 hours! We arrived at Glorietta 5pm then the only ticket available for 3D was the 10:25pm screening time. What happened on that 5 hours? Next post. :)

Honestly, I can’t seem to organize my feelings and the words to express how great the movie was. Every positive adjective in the dictionary is on my mind at the moment. I can’t seem to construct a great sentence! Ha! Seriously.

Four superheroes in one movie? Whoa! I fell crazy inlove with the avengers too because I’ve seen the 3 heroes in theaters with my brothers. I haven’t watched any Hulk movie, so that makes me kinda not to like him - before. But with how the movie came up, I really can’t decide on who among the four or make it six (Hawkeye and black widow) I like the most.

Why? All of them was good-looking. I swear, I’m considering this factor. Handsome and Hot, all of them! If you have a thing for looks, you can’t really decide if you consider this point too. Even Loki was so handsome that I cannot hate him. =) Another thing, all of them was great with fighting! I mean, they’re heroes right? So you expect them to be good at that. But dang! It was better than what I expected. Imagine my face while watching it, *o*. I was literally amazed at every scene. Like a little girl seeing a unicorn or a toothfairy or something close to that. Applause to the casting director for choosing the perfect cast!

Black Widow. I always have a thing for kick-ass ladies on movies. Since her first appearance on Iron Man, I developed a huge girl-crush on her. Scarlett Johansson’s so hot! Ohmy. I like it everytime she’s fighting with the men and villains but still look hot in the end. Especially on her interrogation-hold-for-a-sec part. Dang skills! I love how she portrayed her character. She’s so perfect for the role!

Iron Man. His two movies was not only action-packed but also freaking hilarious! And thats what makes him my favorite Avenger. But not until I watched it last night, it made me like them all. =) It was not only Tony Stark that made the audience laugh. Everyone did. The Avengers was action-packed and at the same time, hilarious!! I swear. Everytime there was something funny, we laugh like a freaking kids! The cinema was so alive. They react at every scene with fear, surprise and a hard laugh.

My favorite scenes? oops, spoiler ahead. I warned you.
